Goal of the Decade

Kasami goal against Palace over Dempsey’s chip against Juve. Someone needs to answer for their embarrassing decision to choose Kasami.

All I can think that a lot who voted did not see the Juva match.

I think Kasami deserves it, made a run from the centre line anticipating the pass which which he controlled magnificently and turned in one movement to hit a unstoppable shot.
  Poetry in motion.

But it did not mean anything as we were relegated despite that goal and Dempsey's goal won us probably the most famous match at the cottage ever.

Where and when a goals was scored must count.

I never vote for those goal of the month things on the Fulham site as comparing first team goals with reserve and under 18 ones is just plain stupid.

I don”t think its about if the goal meant anything ,it’s about the goal it’s self, the skill factor.
Both fantastic goals, just a matter of preference.

It is just feel sorry for Dempsy as his goal was the motivator that got us to a European final against all the odds, the other gave us false hope in what was a dreadful season.

One clearly had more importance then the other. For me Dempsey's was classy, when it came in the match and the importance. 'Substance over style' in this case.

you will see plenty of goals like Dempsey"s in the future; you will NEVER see one like Kasami"s again.

Importance to the club is a different result. For executing the most unlikely of goals it’s Kasami. It depends how you weight all criteria but to me “best goal “ means the execution of the goal not really the moment or pressure on at the time

Kasami goal made it 1-1 before going on to lose the match 1-4, and it was November with Jol still in charge ...we weren’t relegated just yet that would follow.

I’d agree it bought some false hope though and about a months media attention for Kasami that probably didn’t help anyone.

That season was very similar to last season plenty of sparkling goals but plenty of losses

Dempsey's goal was in the Quarters, and got us to the semi, not the final.

Both goals were fantastic.

As for the argument as to whether the context makes one better than the other, remember that until the Juve match, the best-ever game at the cottage was generally considered to be one against Newcastle, in which we lost.  So some people don't worry about the context too much when picking the best ever.
